Agent Templates

Custom Agents

Creating Custom Agents

Library templates (general, media, code, plus legacy starters) are presets: prompt snippet, default tools, default skills, icon. They are not a permission list. Security is the sandbox, the step's tool allowlist, and approvals.

You can start from a template, change tools and skills on the step, or save your own agent. The step's tool list is the contract.

How to Create One

  1. Navigate to the Agents page and click "Create Agent."
  2. Define a name and description for your agent.
  3. Write a system prompt that describes the agent's role, expertise, and behavior.
  4. Select the tools the agent should have access to.
  5. Add default tasks that describe typical jobs for this agent.
  6. Save your agent to your library.

Best Practices

  • Be specific in your prompt — Tell the agent exactly what role it plays, what its output should look like, and any constraints it should follow.
  • Limit tools — Only enable the tools your agent actually needs. Fewer tools means more focused behavior.
  • Use tags — Tag your agents by category (e.g., "research," "content") so they're easy to find when building workflows.
  • Test iteratively — Run your agent in a simple workflow, review its output, and refine the prompt until you're satisfied.

Sharing Agents

Custom agents can be marked as public so other Flux users can discover and use them. Public agents appear in the Explore page and can be added to anyone's workflow.
